(19/02/09) Today I had a tutorial with Gary, I discussed with him the ideas I have on how I can continue within my project based on Llandudno. I found it very useful speaking to him as he gave me advice on to how to put my ideas into practice.
Before the tutorial I had the idea of putting the set of drawers that I plan to make on to a plinth that is covered in fishing netting, bottles and seaweed as if the set of drawers have been washed up from the sea. After speaking to Gary, an idea of placing the set of drawers on a plinth with nothing surrounding them came to light. Having them placed on the plinth alone would make them ambigious so it is only until the viewer is closer to the drawers and starts opening them that it is made clearer that they are based on the seaside resort of Llandudno. It would also make it more personal as if the viewer is looking in someone's set of drawers, rather mysterious and intruging as an aspect of my experience within Llandudno is revealed/discovered as each drawer is opened!
I also showed Gary the 3D frames that I had made and he gave me the idea that I could experiment with incorporating LED lights within these frames to see whether it creates an interesting effect. I could then experiment with covering the lights with different materials such as cling film or coloured cellophane to see what the outcome is.
These are ideas I will look in to as I continue within my project!
